On February 5, 2009, EA's Dice studio, announced two new installments into their shooter lineup, starting with Bad Company 2. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is said to feature an array of weaponry as well as vehicles, in a multitude of environments, including mountain tops and jungle rain forests. With emphasis on being able to
totally obliterate anything that moves, and a vast assortment of weapons, it looks like Bad Company's older, more experienced brother is here to make a name for himself. Bad Company 2 will be available for the Xbox 360®, PLAYSTATION®3 and PC, and will feature online multiplayer gameplay.
The other announcement, under the same Frostbite engine, is Battlefield 1943. BF:1943 will have players fighting in an intense 24 player multiplayer, set in a WWII era. Locations such as Wake Island, and Iwo Jima will see the heat of battle through dog-eat-dog trench combat and ferocious aerial skirmish. DICE seems to be sticking to their guns as far as gameplay format goes, according to Karl Magnus Troedsson, Executive Producer Battlefield Franchise, DICE. He went on to say "Battlefield 1943 is a new take on a blast from the past classic, coming to life with brand new technology that we're eager to get into players hands." in a press release featured on http://www.ea.com.
